Description
Evelyn Killeen McCrann was born in Creevyquin just outside Roscommon town. She now resides in Co. Clare. Evelyn attended University College Galway as a mature student to study an Arts Degree in English and Physical Geography followed by a Higher Diploma in Education.
Evelyn qualified as a secondary school teacher in 2002, however she has devoted her career to special education since 2006. It was at this time that her interest in writing short stories, poetry and memoirs began to flourish.
In 2020, her sentimental and humorous short story “The Importance of Waiting” was short listed for The Roscommon New Writing Award.
She writes about some of her extraordinary, unforgettable and enjoyable times growing up on the family farm. She also writes about the wonderful friendships she has developed, kept and renewed since her school days and up through the years to the
present day.
Many of her poems have been written for special occasions.
