The author’s healing journey…Let’s have a deep dive into one of our forthcoming 2025 publications by Smaranda Maier MSc.
Self-discovery led Smaranda to embrace her true self and live a more authentic life. Here are the key aspects of how this transformation unfolded for her:
Choosing Self:
A pivotal moment of self-discovery occurred when the author decided to prioritise her own well-being, symbolised by the phrase “I chose ME”. This decision, made amidst the struggles of an unhappy marriage, marked a turning point where she began to break free from societal and familial expectations. This act of choosing self was not a singular event but an ongoing process that involved confronting fears, setting boundaries, and pursuing their desires which she writes so eloquently about. It led to significant life changes, including a divorce, a move to Ireland, and pursuing new career paths. Whew! That’s a lot for starters so had us hooked…
Emotional Regulation and Healing:
The author’s healing journey involved acknowledging and addressing her dysregulated nervous system, which stemmed from childhood experiences and emotional turmoil. She recognised the importance of emotional regulation and sought ways to manage her emotions effectively, discovering that suppressing emotions was detrimental, leading to physical and mental distress. Instead, she learned to allow her emotions to complete their full cycle of movement. Now, that’s something we could all do with investigating…
Through therapy, journaling, and the support of friends, the author began to re-parent herself and develop healthier coping mechanisms, learning to detach from unhealthy patterns and create a sense of safety within their body and mind. Confronting her fear of losing her son was a transformative experience that led to a deeper understanding of unconditional love and the importance of letting go of control. Smaranda also explored the impact of generational inherited beliefs, recognising how these beliefs shaped her worldview and behaviours. By understanding and challenging these beliefs, she was able to create space for new perspectives and experiences. Again, this is something we need to create space for in our own lives.
Embracing Vulnerability and Authenticity:
The author’s journey of self-discovery involved embracing vulnerability and authenticity at many points of her existence and for this, in particular, I salute her. She learned that sharing her struggles and seeking support was essential for growth and healing, recognising the importance of forgiveness—both for herself and for those who had hurt her. This act of forgiveness allowed her to release resentment and move forward with greater compassion and understanding. Ooh. How I love those…
Smaranda also discovered the power of expressing her emotions, particularly in their new language, English. Learning to articulate feelings effectively greatly enhanced her communication and deepened her connections with others. Language is so, so important as a tool.
Aligning with Purpose and Intuition:
The author’s healing journey led her to a deeper understanding of her life purpose, guiding her towards a career path that aligned with her passions and values. She recognised the importance of trusting her intuition and allowing Divine Intelligence to guide decisions. This shift in perspective opened up new possibilities and led her to unexpected opportunities.
Through her entrepreneurial journey, she discovered the significance of balancing giving and receiving. Smaranda learned that embracing her worthiness to receive was crucial for her well-being and the success of her business. By cultivating a receiving mode, the author was able to interrupt old patterns of self-neglect and create a cycle of abundance and generosity.
Overall, Smaranda’s story highlights the transformative power of healing and self-discovery. By confronting her past, embracing her emotions, and aligning with her purpose, she was able to create a life filled with authenticity, joy, and fulfilment. Sounds like a path we could all benefit from walking on.
