‘Children’s Laughter’
by Eileen Gormley
This was my second poem, it’s about the innocence and fun of children. It should remain that way. Children must grow up too fast and unfortunately, they are, sometimes, led down the wrong path. Children should be children and there should be no room for adulthood or taking life seriously. We can learn from children to smile and enjoy life, and yes, I admit life is hard but surrounding oneself with positivity can help to deal with challenges. When one sees a smile, it lifts the heart and when one laughs, it’s infectious.
I love children and write mainly about what I love and think about. I think, why is life complicated? Where is the innocence? Enjoy life and don’t let anyone take it away. Children are an inspiration.
Children’s Laughter
I hear the sound of distant laughter.
It sounds so infectious and sweet.
The sound of children so innocent.
Running and jumping in the street.
I wonder what they’re laughing at.
Then again on second thoughts.
Maybe I don’t want to know.
But my attention it has caught.
It doesn’t matter why they laugh.
At least they’re having fun.
It’s so important to smile and laugh.
For each and every one.
So, here’s a little advice for you.
Stand up and join the kids.
Laughing will make you all feel good.
You’ll be so glad you did.
